Fifi Bijoux Luxury Ethical Jewellery is committed to making a positive contribution to the people who mine gold, ethical diamonds and precious ethical gemstones.
Precious minerals are a valuable natural resource.
Fifi Bijoux Luxury Ethical Jewellery respects the exquisite nature of these rare materials. We believe in traceable supply chains and as such, we take exceptional care in selecting suppliers.
Fair Trade Fair Mined Platinum comes from Oro Verde, from the Bio region of Choco in Colombia. Oro Verde piloted the first model of fair trade ‘green’ gold and was among the first to receive official Fair Trade certified status. Gold is mined here without cyanide or mercury and platinum is mined as a by-product of the gold.
Ethical Diamonds go far beyond ‘conflict free’ for Fifi Bijoux. We insist on knowing the mine origin of every diamond we source, from the tiniest pave set stones to the most stunning solitaires. Fifi Bijoux is proud to be a selected license holder of the Jewel Tree Foundation, who certify our diamonds from mine source and in polishing. We source diamonds from Lesotho ( womens co-operative), Australia, Canada, Sierra Leone and Namibia. With each engagement ring, a full history is provided and where specified, a tracking number is available through our ‘Trace Your Diamond’ service. We ensure both mines and polishing facilites work to the highest possible standards of social, community and environmental responsibility.
Ethical Gem Stones are also available, these are sourced through ethical and fair trade projects such as Ruby Fair, Fair Edelsteine, The Jewel Tree Foundation, Columbia Gem House (incorporating Fair Trade Gems) and from other approved suppliers from Brazil, Australia,Scotland, Madagascar and Tanzania. Full details are available for each product. Profits from some gem mines are reinvested back into the community to fund future sustainable projects, such as organic farming or for supporting development of future ethical mining initiatives.
Fifi Bijoux is a stakeholder of the Alliance of Responsible Mining (ARM) and a member of Communities and Small Scale Mining (CASM). Fifi Bijoux is an approved supplier to the Company of Master Jewellers. Vivien Johnston (Director) is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, which encourages the development of a principled, prosperous society and the release of human potential.
Since 2007 Fifi Bijoux has supported the Entebbe Women’s Association Child Sponsorship programme in Uganda. 10% of profits from our ‘Little Acorn’ pendant is donated to EWA and funds the care and education of children who have been orphaned, living in and around mining communities. At time of publication, Fifi Bijoux sponsors 5 children.
Fifi Bijoux had such a great response to the From Little Acorns pendant (featured in Marie Claire and Easy Living magazines) that our customers and retailers asked how else they could help the children in Entebbe who we sponsor, and those like them.
In 2009, with the support of Glasgow the Caring City, World Emergency Relief and Marie Claire readers, Fifi Bijoux sent shoe boxes filed with school equiment to the children and families in Uganda.
Colin Firth, and his very lovely wife Livia (founders of Eco Age, see stockist list for details) also contributed to our appeal, along with many other of our stockists and customers. Browse our Shop or Follow our Supply Trail
