Vivien Johnston is a trained goldsmith, design graduate, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Ambassador for UK Enterprise and stakeholder of the Alliance of Responsible Mining (ARM).  Vivien has also been appointed Adviser To The Board , The Jeweltree Foundation (Maastricht)  and is a member of the Steering Committee for Manufacturing Standards, Fair Jewelery Action (USA & International).

Her achievements include holding the position of Head of Design for a UK commercial jewellery company at 26, before founding Fifi Bijoux in 2006  to pioneer a sustainable business model promoting positive ethics in mining and jewellery. She has recently been appointed by the National Association of Goldsmiths and The British Jewellers Assocaition to steer an ethics working committee.

Vivien has been invited to speak about her work across the globe. Her knowledge of the challenges faced by the jewellery industry as well as  the human rights and environmental issues within mineral mining extend far beyond the scope of her own brand.

Vivien has experience of working at a commercial corporate level in both design and mining, as well as artisanal and independent perspective. Her understanding extends to policy creation and implementation at both business and government levels. Vivien has liaised closely with NGO’s including Earthworks, WWF and others on previous projects.

Vivien is 33 years old, was born in Scotland and currently lives and works between Scotland and London.

She graduated in 1999 with a BA(Hons) in Jewellery & Silversmithing from Glasgow School of Art.

Vivien has achieved international acclaim for her designs and brand intergrity, as well as working with the World Wildlife Fund on exclusive collections. Fifi Bijoux is proud to be an approved supplier to the Company of Master Jewellers.
